Amy Fadool joins The Farzy Show
Who’s ready to kick off their week with Marc Farzetta? Marc kicks us off by discussing the game 3 victory of the Sixers over the Atlanta Hawks to edge ahead in the series 2-1. He could not have been more impressed by the Sixers, especially with the second half of play.
He drives the baseline finding himself under the basket, does he shoot? Throwdown a thunderous dunk? No! He kicks it out to Seth Curry who missed the three. That is dumb basketball. Farzy would have liked Ben Simmons in attack mode on Friday night. Will Simmons take Marc’s advice in Game 4 tonight?
Doc Rivers commented on Simmons’s performance and how he passed up some opportunities. We cannot expect him to score 40 but we need him to take more shots. What are you looking for from Ben Simmons?
With the Hawks playing the best three-quarters of basketball, the Sixers only lost Game 1 by four. With Danny Green out three to four weeks with a right calf strain, who will take his position? “Matisse Thybulle is the guy I am starting,” a confident Marc expresses. Whose your take?
How about those Phillies! They are a game over .500, winning four in a row and six of the last seven. And you get a walk-off win! And you get a walk-off win! With “walk-off willie” starting the trend followed by Jean Segura. What a game from Aaron Nola in last night’s 7-0 victory over the New York Yankees. Let’s hope the good vibes keep on coming as they head to the west coast for series against the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants.
Marc welcomes in NBC Sports Philly Amy Fadool, who discusses Danny Green’s status and what we can expect moving forward. Doc Rivers does not like messing with his second unit so expect Matisse Thybulle to be the replacement, Fadool says. She then goes into Ben Simmons and his lack of shooting. “Sure, he might not score 40 but he is only shooting 3 times. He is just not an offensive threat.” Fadool points out.
They talk about the play where Embiid wants Simmons to take more control of the game and shooting the ball more, before discussing Kyrie Irving’s injury in Game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Not that we cheer on injuries but in this case, does a diminished Nets team sound so bad? “The Sixers have a good matchup with the Nets because of Joel Embiid but they need more second-hand scorers,” Fadool says. “We will have our hands full but the task just got a bit easier. The Nets team is just not likable,” she says.
During the social media check-in brought to you by Steak and Main, Marc talks about how great he feels about the Sixers making the NBA Finals and possibly going one step further?
During the Morning Rush, brought to you by Sky Motor Cars, the Brooklyn Nets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks to even up the series at two games apiece. Marc says that if you are not watching the Phoenix Suns, then you are missing out! It all comes down to the maestro, Chris Paul who is a perfect fit for the Suns who just completed the 4-0 sweep against the Denver Nuggets to move on to the Western Conference Finals.
In the Big Bets segment, brought to you by DraftKings, the Sixers are -6.5 favorites, which Farzetta takes!
