“Brodes” Hunter Brody joins The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta | Monday, June 28th, 2021

Welcome back for another week of the Farzy Show!  Who’s ready to hear Marc talk about the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers?  The excitement of a potential (still very far away) trade with Damian Lillard has Marc ecstatic. Sure, there are other options with Andrew Wiggins and C.J. McCollum but “the slam dunk of a deal would be to get Damian Lillard.  All the others are simply a conversation,” Farzy says.

Farzetta is irked by the Dwight Howard incident who was spotted at Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, which drew criticisms from Charles Barkley and Shaq.

In Phillies news, Aaron Nola was on fire in the first of the doubleheader against the New York Mets but was unfortunately not able to capitalize losing 2-1. However, they were able to take the second of the doubleheader by the same score line.   On Saturday, the Phillies lost a nail-biter 4-3 before bouncing back and claiming the last game of the series 4-2. Rhys Hoskins made a crucial error during Saturday’s loss and wanted to get a jump start on the press conference stating “don’t let my error take away from everybody else,” to which Farzy responds, “It just doesn’t work like that!”

Farzy feels good about splitting two out of four against the number one seed in the NL East, but the way they lost, is what troubles Marc. The Phillies will take on the Cincinnati Reds tonight.

On the Zatos Investments Guest Line, Farzy welcomes in Hunter Brody, founder of Brodes Media and radio host at Townsquare Media, to talk Phillies, Sixers and of course, some hockey! He speaks about the Sixers’ dire need for a ball-handler saying that the Sixers “Could finally, have a pick and roll.”  They then go into the potential trade with Damian Lillard, “What you need is a little bit of luck and a little bit of help and the fact that Damian Lillard is a little unhappy could be that perfect luck,” Brodes explains.

For Brody it is simple: “Daryl Morey made it clear, the offense needs to be better. I am not trading Ben if it makes you worse but I will trade him if it makes you the same.  In the end, you are trading him for a reason.”

Brodes gets into the Phillies going 2-2 against the New York Mets. Though Hunter is growing frustrated with Joe Girardi. “There is no way Joe Girardi should be looking this pathetic. It looks like he has never seen baseball.” Do you agree with these comments? He also questions whether the Phillies are using analytics or not.

Brody talks about Rhys Hoskins’ brand of baseball saying “This is a horrendous version of baseball.” Farzy then responds “We got a third baseman who can’t play third, a point guard who can’t shoot, and an offensive lineman who can dunk. This is the state of Philly sports right now.” Brody asks Marc who he thinks is entertaining baseball at the plate, with Farzy responding “Nobody!”

During our social media check-in, brought to you by Steak and Main, Farzy checks in with fans who want Damian Lillard. “Yes, the process brought you Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, but Damian Lillard would be the capstone on the process.”

In the Morning Rush Segment, brought to you by Sky Motor Cars, Farzy catches us up on the NBA Playoffs with the Bucks taking a 2-1 series lead against the Atlanta Hawks. The Phoenix Suns will look to close out the series against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. Farzy also talks about a Yankee fan proposing at Fenway Park.

In our Big Bets Segment, Farzy takes Phoenix, who are 4.5-point favorites, to close out the series tonight. On another note, the Italians passed a stern test against Austria and will play Belgium in the quarterfinals.
