Eagles Nail the Draft! | Phillies Complete Sweep | Sixers Close out Series | 4/29

Welcome back, Philly Sports fans! The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta discussing all things NFL Draft, Phillies, and Sixers after a historic victory across the board for these franchises and the City of Brotherly Love.

To start the show, Farzy highlights the Phillies’ 4-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies behind Zack Wheeler’s gem of a game to move them to 10-10 on the year. The Phils continue their NL East campaign against the Metropolitans of New York this weekend in Queens.

Next on The Farzy Show, what a blockbuster trade by Howie Roseman! Trading for AJ Brown and signing him to a $100 million extension while drafting Jordan Davis in the first round over the Baltimore Ravens was what the Birds needed. The Eagles’ defense will scare the NFC East, and the offensive options grew substantially with DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown, and Dallas Goedert as options. With these players at his disposal now, Jalen Hurts has no excuse not to hit his targets. The Birds have two more selections in the draft today, and Farzy thinks they might make a trade or two to get more, so wait and see.

Then, on the Rothman Orthopedic Lockerroom Report, Farzy said he was more worried about the Sixers than the Eagles, but that was proven wrong with the 132-97 victory over the Toronto Raptors to close out the first of the playoffs. James Harden and the rest of the Sixers stepped up and took advantage of their opportunities on the court. Joel Embiid scored 33 points despite his hand injury! It was like Embiid healed completely. The whole team grew from this first round of the playoffs, according to Sixers head coach Doc Rivers. The Sixers will tip-off against the Miami Heat in South Beach on Monday at 7:30 pm for Game 1 of the Second Round.

Steak and Main help us check in on Social Media, answering all the fans’ comments and talking about Philly sports. Happy Friday in the chat! The energetic fans heat up the conversation with excitement for the sports teams of Philadelphia! Hopefully, the Birds get a safety in the second round to beef up the D-line, maybe a Penn State safety Jaquan Brisker?

Finally, on the Morning Rush, brought to you by Sky Motor Cars, Marc tells a fascinating anecdote about NFL Draft Prospect Derek Stingley Jr.’s grandfather Darryl Stingley and how his career-ending injury reshaped NFL safety protocols. Farzetta will be at Ocean Casino Resort tonight with The JAKIB Media Youtube channel hosting the Draft Show for the second and third rounds. So, tune in live! The Sixers look to make it past the second round for the first time since the Allen Iverson era. The Phillies continue their run against the New York Mets tonight at 7:10 pm in Queens with Aaron Nola on the mound against Tylor Megill.
