Phils Lose to the Giants | Devan Kaney Joins The Farzy Show 6/1

Happy Hump Day, Philadelphia! Welcome to the month of June and another edition of The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta, joined by Eagles Postgame Live reporter Devan Kaney. The Phils lose to the Giants in their fifth straight loss. The end-of-game issues continue with the Phillies bullpen imploding again.

At the show’s top, Marc breaks down the ineptitude of Jeurys Familia’s extra-inning inability to cover first base. Joe Girardi should have taken the ball out of his hand and released Familia from the team on the spot. However, the Phillies gave you some hope but, in the end, let everyone down. Gabe Kapler “pantsed” Joe Girardi last night. Kapler showed that strategically loading the bases and facing Roman Quinn was the correct move. Girardi admits that Familia’s mishap is one of many adding up for this ball club.

Next, Farzy discusses the Eagles’ starting OTAs. According to Zach Berman, Nick Sirianni and the Birds have decided not to use all the allotted practice time to manage players’ health. As fans, we want to see this team in action. Based on this information, the Eagles’ defensive scheme will change from its long-time 4-3 formation to 3-4. Meanwhile, some Birds players have been working out together in Florida. Hopefully, this change of scheme does not reflect the Chip Kelly era of Birds football.

Then, on the Rothman Orthopedic Guest Line, Davan Kaney, “Queen of Philadelphia Sports,” and Eagles Postgame Live reporter talking all things Birds and Sixers. Kaney is 70% confident that Jalen Hurts will make that leap as starting QB for the Eagles. Marc and Devan concur that the Eagles have picks and other options for next season if Hurts does not work out. The Eagles have built an attractive team to which high-end QBs would be willing to sign or force a trade.

On the Sixers’ side, Kaney believes that Harden’s drop is more mental than physical. She believes that conditioning is also a factor because of Harden’s lifestyle choices off the court. Devan thinks James Harden makes the Sixers a better team but does not deserve a supermax. Hopefully, Maxey does not get packaged in a deal, and the Sixers can keep his ambitious attitude.

Finally, the Steak & Main sponsors the chat check on Social Media, answering all the fans’ comments and concerns about Philly sports. Marc does not care about the personal accolades of Joel Embiid. All he wants for Embiid is a championship. The flow of complaints about the Phillies rolls in by the fans. The audience discusses the accurate height of producer PJ, who makes a clarifying appearance during the chat check.

On the Morning Rush, brought to you by Sky Motor Cars, the 21-29 Philadelphia Phillies take on the San Francisco Giants for the finale at 6:05 pm. Aaron Nola will take on Carlos Rodon in the pitching match-up at Citizens Bank Park. Marc touches on the Mike Missanelli situation that happened at 97.5 The Fanatic. The Farzy Show will continue tomorrow while Marc is across the pond.
