Tom Moore joins The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta | Thursday, June 24th, 2021

Welcome to the Farzy Show! Marc gets us caught up on everything happening in Philly sports. Farzy talks about growing up in a four-sport city like Philadelphia with the thought: “They can’t all be bad at the same time” before adding “for the first time in a long time there is no team to look at and say they got us!” Can the Eagles provide hope? How about the Sixers? Flyers maybe? Which Philly team is the closest to winning a championship in your eyes?

Farzetta rants about the Phillies blowing a 5-0 lead, losing a nail-biter 13-12 to the Washington Nationals, dropping to 34-27 on the season. “You would rather bang your head against the wall than watch the Phillies play,” Marc said about last night’s nightmare, who expects more from this ball club. Farzy then questions Joe Girardi’s management style and what he brings to the organization. Marc is frustrated with baseball in general and the Phillies’ heartbreaking loss didn’t help. “Baseball isn’t what it used to be, it just ain’t fun anymore,” a dispirited Farzy proclaims.

Marc then talks about the Sixer slayers’, the Atlanta Hawks, who proved pundits wrong once again by shocking Milwaukee 116-113 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

On the Zatos Investments guest line, Farzy Welcomes in Bucks County Courier Times Tom Moore, who jokes about getting older stating he “prefers a Sixers regulation loss than an overtime win.” They discuss the painful defeat of the Sixers as it still stings three days later. Blowing an open path to the Conference Finals and having a home-court advantage for the first time since 2001 were some of the main talking points. “It is just a huge missed opportunity,” a disappointed Moore tells Marc.

They then go into who’s to blame. Do you take out your frustration on Doc Rivers or Ben Simmons? What can we expect from Ben Simmons in the future or at this point, does he even have a future in Philly? “It’ll all come down to what they can get for him,” Moore tells us. Do you keep him and try to make him better or make a trade that is not worth it? Who can we count on to improve their game? Will Maxey, Thybulle, or Reed step up when the Sixers need them most. One thing is for sure says Moore, “they will have to be creative.”

“In a seven-game series, your warts show,” Moore comments. It will be crucial for the Sixers to plug these holes moving forward. Marc asks who will be the next Nick Nurse? Can we see a new coach breakthrough as veteran coaches begin to exit the spotlight?

During our social media check-in, brought to you by Steak and Main, there are many pent-up frustrations on the Phillies’ disappointing loss. Farzy expects the Phillies to hover right around .500. Marc tells us how he is still mourning the Sixers’ loss and how it has put him in a funk.

In our Morning Rush Segment, brought to you by Sky Motor Cars, Marc discusses the Western Conference Finals, with Chris Paul back tonight as the Suns seek to take a 3-0 series lead.

In the Big Bets segment, brought to you by DraftKings, Marc talks about his lost bet on Kevin Heuter scoring at least 3 threes in last night’s game against Atlanta. He expects the Los Angeles Clippers who are a one-point favorite against the Phoenix Suns to lose.
